This Album is composed by brothers, sisters and a niece, who during family get togethers often participated in music and sing-song; thus the idea of a family album.
Peter and Ernie Citulsky have played publicly for the past 20 years or so, having been accompanied by various musicians throughout the years.
Ernie has been performing as band leader, playing violin playing from a very early age. He performed at rural dances, house parties and weddings, primarily in the Seech Manitoba area, where his family was raised. Through the years he has perfected his talent, becoming renowned for his fine abilities as a violinist.
Peter joined Ernie's ban early in the 1970's. Being very musically inclined, he became an excellent cymbaly player, among Manitoba's best. Peter and Ernie were self-taught on their respective instruments, both having a superb natural talent.
The band was fortunate to have found a capable guitarist in Marshall Maksymnuk, the only non-family member of the band. He has played with the band for most of their years together.
Five years ago, the group was joined by a fine young talented accordionist, Michele Zemliak, a niece to Peter and Ernie. Michele has studied music extensively for many years. She was awarded many trophies for her participation in Music Festivals from the age of 9 years old.
Most of the songs on this album are performed by family band members. They were joined by another brother, Bill, whose superb smooth bass voice adds much to the vocal arrangements.
Also joining in on vocals are two younger sisters, Anne (Kolench) and Alice (Zemliak). These were the original Citulsky sisters, who were not new to the recording business, having previously recorded a very popular, well received single. Their fine blend of harmony is again demonstrated in the featured duet, as well as in other vocals on this album.
This album is the product of a family group who portrays the many enjoyable hours they have spent entertaining amongst themselves musically and vocally. They have chosen their "Family Favorites" for this album. It is truly an enjoyable listening experience for all.
